The Book Was Better
Anyone who reads will probably agree that when it comes to the comparison between movies and books: The book was better.
Our own imaginations are so much more powerful than any movie can ever be. Movies have to contend with many challenges: the stories often need to be shortened. Thoughts, relationships and background knowledge can't be transported easily and as soon as you have read a book, you have your own idea of the described world, voices and so on, which often leads to disappointment if the movie doesn't meet these ideas.
Of course, some exceptions exist; Psycho and Jaws are claimed to be better movies than books, but these are only exceptions…
