Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary Collectible Coin
Did you know that the Ninja Turtels were actually created as a parody of other superheroes? When you think about it, it’s hard to imagine. Four mutant turtles with Italian names who are taught Asian martial arts by a rat in the sewers and whose favourite food is pizza: that sounds like a first-class idea!
This is also emphasised by this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary collector’s coin. In 1984, the four mutant turtles went into battle against Shredder, Krang and co. for the first time, which also explains why this coin is limited to exactly 1984 pieces. Since then, a huge franchise of comics, series, films and merchandise has grown up around the four likeable turtles and their teacher Splinter.
The design of the collector’s coin is, how could it be otherwise, based on a pizza. The words “40 Years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtels” are also emblazoned on one side, while the Ninja Turtels themselves can be seen on the other: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo.
