Perfect Partners
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 works well with any make of TV but it when used with Sony’s own BRAVIA TV range you can take advantage of some unique features. Connect this soundbar to a compatible Sony BRAVIA TV and the sound bar’s settings are automatically added to the TV’s Quick Settings menu to make operation as simple as possible. With selected BRAVIA TV models you can also use the TV as a centre speaker thanks to the Acoustic Centre Sync feature, this provides the most authentic, cinematic viewing experience possible.
Versatile music streaming
The Theatre Bar 8 has several built-in options for playing your music and other content wirelessly. There’s Bluetooth built in for mobile devices, plus Wi-Fi streaming for playing files on your home network. Apple AirPlay 2 makes it simple to play music and more from iOS® devices. For Android™ fans the HT-A8000 can also stream content through Chromecast built-in, via a wide range of compatible apps.
You can even control the sound bar and make song selections using a Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice controller (sold separately).
Latest HDMI specifications
The bar’s HDMI 2.1 ports support the latest 4K/120Hz and 8K video passthrough as well as HDR (High Dynamic Range) formats like Dolby Vision, so you’ll be able to maximise the picture quality from your next-gen games console or 4K Blu-ray player. With eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel), you can also receive uncompressed audio signals — including Dolby Atmos — from an eARC-equipped TV.
DSEE Ultimate™
Sony’s DSEE Ultimate™ (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) upscales lower resolution digital audio files, so you can enjoy better sound quality even with compressed formats like MP3. Hi-Res audio files are also supported.
