Ruark have taken the timeless medium of radio to a new level with their ultra-stylish R1S Smart radio. Building on the success of their award-winning R1 MK4, the R1S adds Wi-Fi connectivity into the mix, opening up a whole world of listening opportunities through thousands of internet radio stations and podcasts. With DAB+/DAB/FM radio and Bluetooth built-in the new R1S is a truly versatile, one-box music system.
Ruark by design
With its subtle curves, elegant Mid-Grey finish and composite wood hand-crafted grille, the R1S exudes fresh contemporary design. The cabinet and grille blend seamlessly with the brand’s trademark RotoDial controller and full-colour display.
Renowned Ruark sound quality
Powering the R1S is a dynamic linear amplifier which, with adaptive equalisation, provides superb sound quality at all volume levels. The R1S enclosure has been optimised for the NS+ speaker unit to ensure a wide frequency response with impressive bass performance that belies the compact dimensions.
Adaptive full-colour display
The full colour TFT display clearly displays time, alarm, and programme information, and on Wi-Fi sources, album, and station artwork, too. The light sensor automatically adjusts the screen to suit light levels, making it an ideal bedside companion.
Versatile streaming
Built-in Wi-Fi provides easy access to popular music streaming services like Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer (valid subscription required). Alternatively stream direct from your phone or tablet using the built-in Bluetooth receiver.
Flexible connectivity
A rear-mounted USB-C port lets you play music back from USB devices, or you can use it as a charging port for your phone or other USB powered devices. A 3.5mm aux input provides additional connectivity for things like a CD player or turntable whilst a headphone jack allows for private listening sessions. R1S is fully compatible with the optional Ruark BackPack 3 rechargeable battery pack (sold separately).
Easy control
Ruark’s trademark RotoDial makes daily operation a breeze, while a dedicated R1S remote control is also available (sold separately.) Also available is a new free to download Android and iOS app called Oktiv. This also allows full control of R1S and is particularly useful for searching radio stations and podcasts.
