Rabbit or Duck
The ‘rabbit or duck’ shirt shows an optical illusion known as the ‘rabbit-duck illusion’. This illusion is a classic example from the psychology of perception and illustrates how an image can be interpreted in different ways.
The T-shirt shows a simple, stylised drawing that can be perceived as both a rabbit and a duck. The duck’s beak can also be seen as the rabbit’s ears. The lettering ‘Duck’ on the vertical axis and ‘Rabbit’ on the horizontal axis emphasises this ambiguity.
The design alludes to the idea that our perception is subjective and that we can interpret the world around us differently depending on how we process information.
